SAKOM Services is a private security agency operating in Africa, Afghanistan, and around the globe. We provide personal protection services and professional security to the NGO community.
SAKOM is happy to support the NGO community through either short term provision of security contractors, immediate response support for emergencies, or any other area of NGO security need. We recognize that some NGOs are ‘for profit’ and others are not. However, our principles of providing NGO security remain the same, i.e. we see ourselves as client enablers.
Africa is a high focus for the NGO community, as is Afghanistan, although in a more post-emergency phase, with a focus on capacity development and civil society development. As an experienced private security agency, SAKOM understands that donor constraints provide limitations on budgets for NGO security, and we’re capable of providing innovative security solutions and personal protection services to such clients.
SAKOM operates with a totally client focused, client program priority in mind. Within each sector, our project managers are embedded with client staff, and will have the delivery and support to the client program firmly at the forefront of their operational plan. Within that operational plan, there will be a risk analysis taken on a daily basis; normally based on local feedback and source information, which will be the framework of the security approach for that day. Strategically, the aim is to ensure the client program is delivered on time and SAKOM consider themselves an enabler to the client mission.
